About
A mystery game your table builds a town out of
Alibi Town is an online party game for families and friends. Something small and silly has happened, one of you did it, and every case you close becomes a place on your own town map. It is made and sold by Media Yard LLC, a small company in New Jersey, United States.
What the game is
You play in a web browser, on one phone passed round a table, in a room with everyone on their own phone, or on your own. Each case takes about fifteen minutes. Everyone innocent is told one thing about the evening; the culprit isn't, and has to bluff. You read the alibis out, argue, and vote. Under the cases runs a longer story, told in seasons, about who is really behind it all.
Empty chairs can be filled by the townsfolk, six characters whose lines are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). Their portraits, every painting of the town and its places, and the narrator's voice were also made with AI: they are pictures and recordings of nobody real. The music is made in your browser as it plays. There is also a Daily Alibi: one small case a day, the same for everyone.
A town that has been played is yours to show: you can make a page of your map and its case files to send to anyone, and take it down again whenever you like. Nothing about your town is public unless you do.
What it costs
- Free: the game itself, seasons one and two (twenty cases), and the Daily Alibi. No account is needed.
- Season three, "The Grandmaster": $19, paid once.
- Season four, "The Editor": $19, paid once.
- Seasons three and four together: $29, paid once.
- Season five, "The Copycat" (the last part of the story): $19, paid once.
- All three paid seasons together: $39, paid once.
- Included with any paid season: writing cases of your own, which play by the same rules and are built on your map.
- As a gift: any of the paid seasons can be bought for someone else at the same price. They get a key of their own, which we can email to them with a note from you.
Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews.
How you get what you pay for
Paid seasons are digital and delivered straight away. Payment is taken on a secure checkout page run by Stripe. When you come back from the checkout, the site shows you a key and unlocks the season in that browser at once; the same key unlocks it on your other devices. Nothing is posted and there is nothing to download.
The seasons are played in order, so season three opens in a town once it has finished seasons one and two, season four once it has finished season three, and season five once it has finished season four.
Refunds and cancellations
If you ask within 14 days of buying, we will refund you in full. Write to support@alibitown.com with the email you paid with. Because each season is a one-off purchase, there is nothing to cancel. The full terms are on the terms page.
Your information
Your town is saved in your own browser. If you buy a season, it is also saved with your key so it survives a new phone. We don't use accounts, advertising or cookies. We keep simple counts of what is played, with nothing that says who you are, and Cloudflare counts visits for us without cookies. When you buy, Stripe handles your payment details and we keep only your key. The privacy page says exactly what leaves your device and when.
