Cookies and storage

No cookies. Here is what there is instead

Last updated October 9, 2026

Alibi Town sets no cookies, of any kind: none of ours, none for advertising, none for analytics. That is why there is no cookie banner. The game does keep a few things in your browser's own storage so it can remember your town. Nothing in that storage is sent to us unless the Privacy page says so.

Kept until you clear it

WhatWhy it is there
Your townThe map, the case files and the residents' records. This is the game.
Your tableThe names last typed for the players, and how many townsfolk sat in, so you needn't type them again.
Your Daily Alibi resultsThe last fourteen days and your streak.
Today's dateSo one browser is not counted as a new visitor twice.
Whether the music is onSo it stays the way you left it.
Your key and the seasons it opensOnly if you bought or entered one. So the seasons play without asking the server each time.
A gift waiting to be givenOnly if you bought one. The key, until you say you have handed it over.
Your town page's link and its passOnly if you made one. The pass is what lets this browser update or remove the page.
A phone room's code and your seat's passOnly while you are in a room. So a refresh or a locked screen comes back to the same seat.

Kept until you close the tab

WhatWhy it is there
That the welcome-back note was dismissedSo it doesn't reappear on every screen.
That a refund locked a seasonSo the game can tell you once, after reloading.

Other companies' scripts

One script from another company runs on these pages: Cloudflare's visit counter, described on the Privacy page. It sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser. The checkout is on Stripe's own site, which uses its own cookies under its own policies.
